The Lubbock ISD Council of PTAs announced the PTA scholarship student winners at the spring awards luncheon on May 10. Each scholarship recipient plans to enter the teaching profession and received $1,000 to put toward their education. End-of-Year awards were also given. Click here to read more in the E-Reporter.

Lubbock ISD presents the Summer Reading Challenge for all students, faculty and staff. This challenge is meant to encourage and motivate students and adults to read for pleasure throughout the summer months. PTA will be taking money for yearbooks this Friday before school in the auditorium. Be sure and reserve one if you haven't already, they are almost sold out!

Show Choir auditions will be Tuesday, May 22nd and Wednesday, May 23rd.  A required dance routine will be taught on the first day and auditions will be on the second day. For more information, pick up an audition form outside the choir room!

Jr. Historians will be selling popcorn and pickles on Friday after school for $1 each. Please bring your money and support the Jr. Historians.

Hutchinson Middle School GEAR robotics teams competed April 21st in the area wide GEAR competition hosted by Texas Tech and sponsored by Halliburton.  Hutch had a great showing!  Out of 121 competing teams around the South Plains: Hutch Team 5: Cormack Weeks, Ethan Weeks, and Dylan Samples placed 5th overall, Hutch Team 2: Mateo Rosalies, McKinley Scheppler, and Alina Schneider placed 7th overall and Hutch Team 6: Colten Cannon, Hayden Hendrix, and Kade Willimack placed 14th.  Team 5 also won the Young Engineers 2nd place Award, Team 2 won the Programming Award and Team 6 had an honorable mention in programming. Congratulations!
